The aim of this experiment is to prove that acceleration due to gravity is 9.81 m/s.
We believe that by using a ramp and a marble that we will be able to prove that acceleration due to gravity is 9.81 m/s.
We think this will happen because gravity pulls the marble down to the bottom of the ramp, and if acceleration due to gravity is 9.81 m/s then the data from the trials will show that it is true.
If I were to make a graph for this experiment it would be a velocity and time graph with a straight line that goes in a positive direction; as the time increases the velocity does too.
Independent Variable: Starting point for marble
Dependent Variable: How long it takes the marble to get to the end of the ramp
Controlled Variable: acceleration due to gravity
